An RX 6750 GRE, enough to stand up to the RTX 4060 Ti?

AMD is said to be continuing to offer “GRE” boards on the Asian market, mainly in China. So, after launching its RX 7900 GRE, the brand is said to be tackling something smaller with an RX 6750 GRE. This is what reports from China seem to indicate.

RX 6750 GRE: enough to titillate the RTX 4060 Ti for the price of an RTX 4060!

This is a card with limited availability, as it is mainly sold in China. However, as with the 7900 GRE, we may well see it come to our shores via componentbundles or pre-assembled PCs. It will depend on the brands involved whether or not they are distributed in our country.

RX 6750 XT

Clearly, this card is intended to give NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 Ti a run for its money. To this end, AMD is proposing a card with a highly attractive performance/price ratio. Rumors point to the performance of an RTX 4060 Ti for the price of an RTX 4060. If the card lives up to its promises, this would be a major blow for the greenies. Because, even if this model doesn’t reach our shores, China represents a juicy market for computer components.

All that remains is to solve the GPU configuration conundrum. According to VideoCardz (again), there are several possibilities:

  • Either AMD is basing itself on the configuration of the original 6750 XT, highlighting a boosted GPU frequency, i.e. higher than the original 2600 MHz. To achieve this, simply take the best chips available ex-factory and apply a higher frequency.
  • Either AMD offers a larger configuration within the GPU, or you have to recycle. In fact, the 6750 XT already uses a full Navi 22, so you’ll have to opt for a defective Navi 21 with fewer than 3840 functional stream processors (RX 6800 configuration).

In this second case, it would not be impossible to see a card with a memory capacity modelled on NVIDIA’s RTX 4060/Ti, with a total of 8 GB of VRAM. However, the memory bus would be doubled: 256 bits versus just 128 bits for the Chameleon cards, and potentially better bandwidth.

Finally, according to ItHouse, the card will sell for around 2,400 yuan, or around €305. Power consumption is said to be around 250W, with a footprint of 26.7 cm over two slots. To be continued.
