Head for the SiSoftware database, where you can find the specifications of the future Threadripper Pro 7995WX and 7975WX. These are professional CPUs , with a model featuring up to 96 cores!
Threadripper Pro 7995WX: 96 cores at 3.2 GHz!
As far as we know, these processors have been tested on DELL machines. In fact, the Precision 7875 contained these CPUs, enabling us to find out more about their characteristics.
The 7995WX is the more advanced of the two, with the largest core configuration. It boasts a total of 96 cores for 192 threads! In terms of frequency, the single-core boost goes up to 5.14 GHz, while the turbo frequency on all cores is 3.2 GHz! Suffice it to say that, when called upon, it will gobble up a huge amount of watts.
In terms of chip construction, we’re talking about a total of 12 eight-core CCDs. These would contain a total of 384 MB of L3 cache, or 32 MB per CCD. On the L2 cache side, the processor would then have 96 MB.
Threadripper Pro 7975WX, already less muscular…
The 7975WX is already less muscular than its predecessor. Firstly, it has fewer cores, with “only” 32 cores for 64 threads. Next, the amount of L3 cache is also divided by 3: 128 MB… On the other hand, it also offers three times fewer cores, as is the case for L2 cache, which reaches 32 MB. As for frequencies, this time we’re talking about a maximum frequency of 4.0 GHz, obviously boosted on all cores. Finally, the TDP of this model reaches 350W.
Of course, these two CPUs, being business-oriented models, manage eight memory channels. As these are new-generation models, we expect them to be equipped with Zen4 cores.
