Yesterday, we told you that the RTX 5090 could be the first RTX 50 graphics card to see the light of day. Today, the famous leaker kopite7kimi has cast doubt on this, indicating that the RTX 5080 could be the first card in the series to see the light of day.
RTX 5080: the first to arrive?
If Moore’s Law is Dead claimed that the RTX 5090 would be the first RTX 50 to arrive, another leaker has appeared. kopite7kimi claims, in a reply to a TechpowerUp post, that the RTX 5080 would be the first RTX 50 to arrive, but says no more.

In the end, it’s all very confusing and tells us that nobody knows anything yet. For the time being, NVIDIA seems to be keeping the launch of these cards a closely-guarded secret.
As for the card itself, the latest rumors point to a GB203 GPU-equipped card with a configuration equivalent to half an RTX 5090. In reality, this could result in an RTX 5080 with 12,288 cuda cores, while the 5090 would offer 24,576. As for memory, we’ll have a 256-bit ave interface, possibly GDDR7.
