RTX 5090 in 2024, the rest in 2025!

Clearly, the launch of NVIDIA’s new generation of graphics cards will take place in several stages, with cards coming as early as this year. Indeed, via our colleague TechpowerUp, we learn that the RTX 5090 could see the light of day as early as 2024! Of course, the rest of the range would follow in 2025.

An RTX 5090 this year?

RTX 5090

If our colleague is to be believed, the RTX 5090 would be the first Blackwell GPU to see the light of day, according to a video from Moore’s Law is Dead. It is expected to be launched this year, at the end of the third or beginning of the fourth quarter.

Unlike the RTX 40, the Chameleon won’t be offering its high-end cards from the outset. According to MLID, RTX 40 stocks are still too high, and the brand would like to give itself some time to clear inventories. Once that’s done, the rest of the series can be released.

However, even if only the spearhead arrives, it will already give us an idea of the improvements made to the series. Then, depending on the performance achieved and the brand’s communication, we’ll be able to imagine how the other models in the range will perform.

In the meantime, the latest rumours suggest a GPU capable of accommodating up to 192 SM or 24567 cuda cores. As for memory, it’s likely that we’re dealing with a card equipped with GDDR7 chips, but the final configuration remains to be seen. Some indicate a 512-bit bus, others a 384-bit bus. In any case, memory bandwidth is sure to increase thanks to GDDR7 and its higher frequencies. And last but not least, we can expect boards powered by a new PCIe 6.0 power connector.
