Rocket 2242: a new SSD for portable consoles from Sabrent!

Sabrent Rocket 2242

With this new SSD, the Sabrent brand offers us a small SSD in M.2 2242 format. It boasts a capacity of 1 TB for game storage. In their basic configurations, portable consoles often offer just 512 GB of storage, which can quickly show its limitations.

Internally, this SSD features a Phison E27T memory controller, a model without a DRAM controller. As for memory, we’re dealing with NAND from Kioxia, with 162-layer chips.

As for performance on paper, Sabrent has announced data rates of up to 5 GB/s. All this is made possible by this model’s PCIe 4.0 x4 interface.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any further details on this model. All we know is that the official retail price is $99.99 and that it comes with a 5-year warranty. You should also know that it’s already available on Amazon at a price of €115!
