The KFA2 RTX 4080 SUPER SG:

Architecture:

The model we’ll be testing today, the KFA2 RTX 4080 SUPER SG 1-Click OC, is a “partner” card. It’s an “SG” model, part of the ” Serious Gaming ” series. This series, which is already well known in the KFA2 catalog, has been given a new design for this new generation. It has its own PCB and a cooling system developed by KFA2. This is a completely different model from the NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition.

The RTX 4080 SUPER has 10240 CUDA cores, just over 5% more than the RTX 4080, which has 9728. It features TSMC’s 4 nm manufacturing process , with a TGP of 320 watts. Memory-wise, there’s no change, as we’re sticking with 16 GB of 256-bit GDDR6X memory, which translates into a bandwidth of 736.3 GB/s.

The bundle for this Serious Gaming :

So what’s in the box? As usual, KFA2 has taken great care with the packaging, offering a cardboard box in which to hide our copy of the KFA2 RTX 4080 SUPER SG 1-Click OC, but that’s not all.

As soon as you open the box, you’ll notice two additional elements to the graphics card. Firstly, an additional fan, the 102 mm ARGB 1-Clip Booster 2.0, which we’ll come to in more detail later in the article. The second accessory is a bracket to hold your graphics card vertically in your case.

Finally, there’s a 16-pin (12 4) adapter to three 150w 8-pins (450w in total). This adapter is necessary for those who don’t have a power supply with an original 16-pin (12 4) port or the adapter specific to their power supply. Please note that NVIDIA is the sole supplier of the adapter, and therefore provides it to its partners.

Cooling :

Our KFA2 RTX 4080 SUPER SG 1-Click OC has different proportions to NVIDIA’s Founders Edition. The main change is in the fans, of which there are three on this model. These three 102 mm fans are part of the “Wings 2.0” series. They have been optimized to deliver higher static pressure, improved airflow and longer service life. It features RGB backlighting that can be controlled by Xtreme Tuner software, which we’ll come to in more detail later in this article.

The board’s dimensions are 352 x 153 x 66 mm, with a thickness of 3.5 slots. The front panel is mostly made of black plastic, which gives a fairly neutral appearance when the card is not powered up. The RGB backlighting changes the whole picture, and you can already see in the photos the areas where there is a reflection. While we’re on the subject of illuminated keys, a ” GeForce GTX ” inscription on the top edge of the card will also light up.

On the front, the three 102 mm fans are responsible for keeping the radiator in contact with the graphics chip and the various PCB components cool. These black fans are equipped with 11 curved blades that remain at rest when the board is not in use and the temperature remains below 35°C.

As we’ll see later, the fan on the far right blows air through the heat sink and is then exhausted at the rear of the board. Hot air will then flow towards your memory slots. This is due to the PCB being shorter than the cooling system. The PCB is actually 2/3 of the total length of the board.

ARGB 1-Clip Booster 2.0 of 102 mm:

The more attentive will have noticed that on the backplate’s rear face , a recessed area allows air to be evacuated. You’ll need to ensure proper air circulation within the case to properly evacuate this heat source. This is where the Booster clip is clipped.

This is a fourth 102 mm fan, also with ARGB backlighting, which will further improve the radiator’s heat dissipation. Beware, however, that it may be incompatible with many motherboards whose PCIe port is close to the memory slots.

The two connectors on the rear panel allow you to power this fourth fan and manage the RGB backlight via your motherboard.

Connectors :

The new 16-pin mini-connectors are used to power the card. As mentioned above, NVIDIA includes in its bundle an adapter that allows three 8-pin connectors to be plugged in.

Finally, the board’s video outputs include three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.1 port.
