On the NVIDIA and Blackwell fronts, things are moving forward as we learn that the brand is currently testing different configurations for its graphics cards. According to rumors, versions with GPTs ranging from 250W to 600W are currently being tested.

Blackwell: different GPUs under test!

According to Benchlife, various TGPs are currently being tested. Indeed, tests of cooling systems are underway, with power consumption ranging from 250W to 600W.

At 250W, the cards shouldn’t sweat too much, but at 600W, it’s a different story. Indeed, with such a high power consumption, you’ll have to expect an imposing cooling system on the reference boards. However, just because tests are carried out at 600W doesn’t mean that a 600W card will necessarily emerge. As a reminder, Ada Lovelace GPU prototypes were tested at 900W, but no card sharing this configuration was ever produced.

In any case, there’s no doubt that large graphics cards will remain on the market… We’ve seen what TGP ‘s 450W cards can do, particularly with the RTX 4090, even in its Founders Edition design. On the other hand, cards with a power consumption of 250W will be more reasonable, and we can well imagine NVIDIA offering us double-slot cards of contained length.

In any case, it’s not impossible that RTX 50s will be launched at the end of the year… Although we still don’t know which card will open the ball: RTX 5090 or RTX 5080?
