Raptor Lake refresh: do CPUs fill up with cores?

0

News has just arrived about Intel’s 14th-generation Core i processors, the Raptor Lake Refresh. According to the YouTube channel Red Gaming Tech, these processors are set to pack them full of cores!

Raptor Lake Refresh: packed with cores!

Without further ado, let’s get to the heart of the matter with the i3 series, which could well feature a total of six P-Cores. Future 14100 and 14300 processors will feature six cores. Until now, in the thirteenth generation, these have been four-core chips, without E-Core. In short, 50 e performance on an i3 is nothing to sneeze at!

The i5 series is no different, with the i5 14400 and i5 14500 gaining 4 E-Cores. Until now, the i5 13400 and i5 13500 had six P-Cores and four E-Cores. In the case of the big i5s, the 14600K/KF, the blues have added two extra P-Cores. Their configuration thus becomes similar to that of current i7s: 8 8-cores.

While up until now, the i7 13700K/KF had 8 8-core cores, the future 14700K/KF will feature 8 12-core configurations… Real monsters.

The big disappointment, however, concerns the 14900K/KF, whose number of cores remains unchanged. For them, Intel simply reserves an increase in operating frequencies. While the 13900K was running at 5.8 GHz in turbo mode, this is now increased to 6 GHz. In the case of the 14900KS, the CPU will reach 6.2 GHz instead of the previous 6 GHz.

Now, bear in mind that all this is just guesswork. Until Intel makes its processors official, specifications are always subject to change. That’s the disclaimer.
