Qube 500 Flatpack: self-assembly and highly customizable!

Cooler Master Qube 500 Flatpack

When you receive this model, it comes in a small, flat cardboard box. So, as you unpack the components, you can start assembling your configuration. And the first thing you take out of the box is the motherboard tray. Now you can start screwing it onto the tray. Next comes the power supply slot, then the rear of the case, where the graphics card will be mounted, and so on (see demonstration here).

The other advantage of having a model that can be assembled in this way lies in the scope for customization. As each panel can be accessed individually, it’s easy to make cut-outs or paint jobs as required. There’s no need to pop rivets and reattach them after removing the motherboard tray, for example. That’s for the modding aspect, otherwise, we imagine that various accessories will be available, and the brand has indicated that it will make plans available for 3D printing!

Once the PC is assembled, we’re faced with a case measuring 231 (W) x 406 (D) x 415 (H) mm. Inside, there’s ample space for an E-ATX motherboard (296 mm wide). For the cooler, graphics card and power supply, we have 172 mm, 360 mm and 173 mm respectively. Nevertheless, in the case of a watercooling radiator, this is a little disappointing, since the case is only compatible with 240 mm blocks. However, this can be explained by the compact dimensions of this model.

Prices are rather affordable, at €94.99 for the classic version and €104.99 for the Macaron Edition. The Macaron Edition comes in yellow and green for the front and top of the case.
