Following the example of TeamGroup’s T-Create Expert Mining Adata also launches into the SSD for the Chia corner. The model in question is called Prospector 950 and arrives with a capacity of 1 TB. Nevertheless, in this practice, what will interest us is the endurance of the storage which is particularly long.
Prospector 950: an endurance of 28000 TBW!
On the program, we find a single SSD with an M.2 format. It also has a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface, in short, a classic in itself. The same goes for performance with sequential speeds of 3500 MB/s in reading against 3000 MB/s in writing. Finally, the random performance rises to 280k IOPS in reading and 220k IOPS in writing.
However, when mining Chia coin, what is important is to have a very durable storage. And the least we can say is that the endurance is the asset of this model. Indeed, ADATA announces 28000 TBW, that is to say 40x more than a “classic” SSD. Moreover, as a comparison, the one from TeamGroup is less enduring with its 12000 TBW.
For the moment, we have no idea of the selling price of this model. However, on the product page, we can already see a future Prospector 970 with an even more insane endurance. The latter going to 56000 TBW!
