GeForce GTX are bowing out!

Clearly, according to BoardChannels, a page is about to be turned. If reports are to be believed, the GeForce GTX era is about to come to an end. NVIDIA is said to have simply stopped production of the GTX 1650 and GTX 1630, sounding the death knell for the GTX, the RT core-less cards!

GeForce GTX: RIP in 2024!

It seems that NVIDIA is in the process of taking the very last orders for the GTX 1650 and GTX 1630. Once these orders have been placed, there will be no new ones, and this is what will put an end to the GTX name in the chameleon’s catalog. The 1650 and 1630 were the last models still available under this name.

Today, NVIDIA only produces “GeForce RTX”, since all the brand’s boards feature RT Core. The transition began with the launch of the RTX 2000, when the range was split in two:

  • GTX: entry/mid-range cards with no ray tracing or DLSS support, due to the absence of Tensor Core.
  • RTX: mid/high-end cards supporting ray tracing and DLSS , thanks to the presence of RT core and Tensor core.

Finally, these 1650s and 1630s were the company’s last “old-fashioned” cards. Once stocks run out (which should happen fairly soon), the only entry-level card left will be the RTX 3050, priced at just over €200.
