ASUS to offer BIOSes compatible with new AMD CPUs

As we told you in this brief, AMD has just announced the arrival of no less than seven new processors including the expected Ryzen 7 5800X3D using 3D V-cache technology. ASUS today announced BIOS support and updates to prepare its motherboard lineup for the new wave of AMD Ryzen 5000 and 4000 series CPUs. To accompany the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which features a special 96MB L3 cache, AMD has released AGESA version 1.2.0.6b to improve system performance. Many ASUS motherboards in the 500, 400, A320 and X370 series already have BIOS updates incorporating this new AGESA architecture, while all other compatible models will receive the corresponding updates by March 25. The remaining processors in this wave will be recognized by ASUS 400 and 500 series motherboards via pre-existing BIOS updates – also featuring AGESA version 1.2.0.6b – which can be downloaded from the ASUS support website at Previous generation ASUS motherboards will be compatible with these new processors, according to the table below.
