Tiger Lake, the CPU soon at the end of its life?

0

Little by little, Intel is starting to place some 11th generation processors under the EOL (End of Life) status. This concerns Tiger Lake models with models labeled H, B and KB. All this is done gradually with a total stop of orders by January 2024.

Tiger Lake: the end of life is approaching!

Intel Tiger Lake EOL

In a product change notification (PCN), the brand indicates the unavailability of certain CPUs. Thus, nine models are already affected with mobile and desktop processors. In fact, the Core i5-11260H/11400H, Core i7-11600H/11800H and Core i9-11900H for the mobile part are no longer available. Same for the desktop versions with i3-11100B, i5-11500B, i7-11700B and i8-11900KB.

Little by little, these chips should disappear from our shelves. If they are still accessible, it is simply because they are still in stock, but they will not be renewed. And this will concern, little by little, the whole 11 series.

Now, keep in mind that the 11th generation Core i’s are out in May 2021. So Intel wants to focus on these higher performing 12th and 13th generation chips. More importantly, this frees up production lines for current and future generations.
