Ryzen 7000X3D: a problem with Expo profiles!

Still related to these Ryzen 7000X3D processors, it seems that the cause of premature death of CPUs has been identified. Apparently, the problem is related to AMD ‘s EXPO profiles which apply too much voltage to the processors. The rest is known.

Finally, Igor’s LAB seems to have identified the cause of death of these Ryzen with 3D V-Cache memory. The most likely cause would come from AMD EXPO profiles, which are greedy on voltages. The manufacturers Asus and Gigabyte would have implemented them as is. If they don’t cause any problems on the Ryzen 7000X (although), they are clearly problematic for the X3D. Apparently, when applied, the CPU SOC and CPU VDDIO/MC voltages are propelled between 1.36V and 1.4V and even 1.5V on Windows. As you can see, at such levels, RIP the CPU.

Der8auer investigated and came to the following conclusion: the dead Ryzen X3Ds are due to these famous EXPO profiles. Moreover, after inspection of its 7900X, the processor also shows a small bulge. While there are no cases of dead X CPUs for now, it is a phenomenon that will need to be watched closely.

The communication from Asus!

On its side, the Asus brand goes of its small communiqué by indicating to have launched new bios. These include new temperature monitoring mechanisms to protect both the processor and the motherboard. At the same time, they removed the manual control of the VCore that was still available. Similarly, they are currently working together with AMD to define new rules for EXPO profiles and SoC voltage.

To be continued in this case.
