RTX 4090 and RTX 4080: harder and harder to find in Japan!
Head for the land of the rising sun, where NVIDIA graphics cards are going like hotcakes… especially high-end solutions. Over there, we learn that more and more stores are out of stock, even in Akihabara.
Clearly, cards are in high demand, even the less wallet-friendly models like the RTX 4080. Yes, it has to be said, the high price of the 4080 compared with the 4090 makes it less attractive… But that doesn’t seem to be putting off the Japanese, who seem to be in great demand.
Theories abound as to the reason for this stock reduction. Some claim that NVIDIA is simply controlling the quantities of cards produced/shipped. This isn’t far-fetched: as we’ve seen, NVIDIA didn’t hesitate to reduce its RTX 4070 production to limit surpluses. Clearly, this is what the company would do to avoid finding itself in the same situation as with the RTX 3000.
The other hypothesis concerns the artificial intelligence market. As we know, this sector brings in a lot of money for the Greens (whose French offices were raided). Nor is it impossible that the chameleon might favor this production to the detriment of the gaming sector.
