The Jonsbo HX6250

The packaging remains sober, like the product. We will find an illustration of the HX6250 with a reminder of the characteristics on the sides of the box and that’s all. Don’t look for any kind of highlighting of the features, there are none.

However, inside, the cooler is very well protected with a black foam protection. The fan and the accessory part benefit from cardboard overpackaging. Anyway, no breakage or bent fins on arrival.

Radiator:

The current trend is to reduce the size of the heatsinks, we felt it during the tests of the AK500 and AK400. Here, a big surprise when we unpacked this heatsink of considerable size!

Weight and dimensions

With its HX6250 Jonsbo announces a huge heatsink measuring 144 mm wide against 121 mm deep. The height is 162 mm which is still relatively compact considering the size of the fan. Despite this, it should be able to slide into your case without too much difficulty. But keep an eye on this aspect when ordering.

The weight is also important since this set weighs more than 1 kg on the scale. The Chinese brand announces 1150 g more precisely, a weight similar to the AS500 Plus from DeepCool!

The base

Jonsbo HX6250 base

In view of the dimensions, fortunately we find a base strongly off-center towards the front. The objective, you will have understood, is not to overflow on the memory slots of your motherboard. Logically, to see during the assembly, all the slots should be free after installation.

Otherwise, we notice a large quantity of copper heat pipes from this famous base. Here, they are six in number and measure six millimeters in diameter. They join at the level of the aforementioned base which is out of nickel-plated copper whose completion is very clean. Again, the traces of machining are very fine and are almost not felt to the touch.

Finally, the base is of considerable size since it displays 4.1 cm x 4.4 cm, enough to cover the entire IHS of any mainstream processor!

The radiator

Seen from the side, you can clearly see that the base is off-center since the whole stack of aluminum fins is shifted towards the back. Moreover, be careful since this creates an imbalance, be careful that the radiator does not fall backwards. This phenomenon is particularly accentuated when the fan is not present.

Otherwise, we can count on a total of 50 aluminum fins to dissipate the heat. As you can see, the first eight are shortened to limit the impact on motherboards with memory slots on both sides of the socket. And at the back, the latter are in the form of slots which presents well.

Finish

The finish is clearly at the top with a full black coating. It is found absolutely everywhere: on the fins and the copper heat pipes. On the top, we have a removable cover to hide the heat pipes tips and the mounting holes. This cover is made of brushed aluminum and anodized in black and includes the logo of the brand.

Compatibility

We now come to talk about the compatibility of the sockets of this heatsink. On this subject, Jonsbo mentions:

  • Intel : LGA-115x – LGA-1200 – LGA-1700 – LGA-2000
  • AMD : AM4

Here, the compatibility is not exemplary since the high-end sockets from AMD are missing. So there will be no TR4 and derivative compatibility here.

The fan

Ventilation is provided by a single 140 mm fan, which is quite imposing. Unfortunately, the mill is unknown to the public since it has no particular reference, impossible to find it on the brand’s website.

On the other hand, we will retain its very sober design with a nice frame with many diamonds on the sides. Likewise, it has a silent block to reduce as much as possible the parasitic vibrations during the operation. However, the cable is flat and black, so there is no sheath… Too bad.

As you can see, the blades are seven in number and are rather large… Especially at their end.

Jonsbo HX6250 ventilateur

Concerning its characteristics, the fan benefits from a PWM power supply. Initially, it offers an operating speed between 700 rpm and 1800 rpm. At full speed, the airflow will be 90.2 CFM and the static pressure will reach 2.74 mmH2O.

Alternatively, you can reduce its speed with an L.N.A. adapter. With this device, the speed is drastically reduced to between 400 rpm and 1200 rpm. The air flow and static pressure also drop: 57.81 CFM and 1.14 mmH2O respectively.

Bundle:

Jonsbo HX6250

The accessory part rests in a small cardboard box and features :

  • An assembly manual
  • Four steel claws allowing the assembly of two fans
  • A long screwdriver
  • A spatula to apply the thermal paste
  • A syringe of thermal paste from Thermal Grizzly!
  • One L.N.A. adapter
  • Screws and arms/backplate for mounting the steel heatsink

As far as the accessory part is concerned, no particular criticism to be made since Jonsbo provides everything necessary for the assembly. The brand goes a little further by offering a set of claws in addition, the screwdriver and the adapter to reduce the speed of the fan. Finally, we highlight the presence of paste from Thermal Grizzly, a guarantee of quality.

Roughly speaking:

Clearly, the HX6250 surprises by its dimensions and its finish, it is imposing, it presents very well and it is sober. The accessory section includes everything you need for mounting, and even a little more. In short, it’s perfect so far, let’s see what it looks like on the installation side!
