Review: Jonsbo HX6250

Conclusion

We are coming to the end of this test of the HX6250 signed by Jonsbo. Are we dealing with a successful product? Let’s see it in detail!

A very attractive design !

With its HX6250, the Chinese brand Jonsbo hits hard in the field of aircooling type heatsinks. Indeed, this model offers a very neat aesthetic with a full black coating. The finish is also good and overall, this model strongly reminds us of the products of the brand be quiet! by their visual aspect.

Nevertheless, the brand does not stop there since it does not hesitate to put forward a complete accessory part. We will find the tools for the assembly, screwdriver in head, and even what to install a second fan. And the little surprise was the presence of Thermal Grizzly thermal paste where we expected to find a no-name model.

Beware of the dimensions

The assembly is really not complicated, you just have to follow the instructions. In general, in a few minutes the cooler is ready to work. However, pay attention to its dimensions, even if the height is quite limited, for a 140 mm model, it is an element to watch for your case. The same goes for the ports on your motherboard, if the memory is not affected, it is not impossible that the first PCIe slot is obstructed.

What about the performance?

Jonsbo HX6250 protocole

Thermally, the temperature is good when the fan is running at high speed. As we have seen, this model manages to compete with Noctua models such as the NH-U12A or theAS500 from DeepCool. However, when the operating speed is reduced, it is a little more difficult. In these conditions, theAK500 does just as well despite its much more compact size. The fan seems to lack punch at  800 rpm. A second fan would not have been superfluous at low rpm.

Unfortunately, this high performance is accompanied by significant noise pollution. On its own, the fan is louder than dual-tower 140mm references as well. If you appreciate silence, you will have to drastically reduce its operating speed.

60 € for such a monster!

Despite all this, Jonsbo offers a well-considered price for its cooler. If you look hard enough, at Caseking.de you can get it for about 60 euros, a very good price. At this price, we have theAK500 from DeepCool, which is less efficient at high speeds, but quieter. A reference to choose if you want “performance”!

Jonsbo HX6250

We like:
  • The very neat aesthetics of this heatsink
  • Its good level of finish
  • The very complete accessory part: screwdriver and set of claws in addition
  • The thermal paste signed Thermal Grizzly
  • The simple assembly
  • The eccentric base, the heatsink does not overflow on the RAM
  • The temperatures at high speed in absolute
  • The silence at low speed
  • The price of 60 € well studied
We liked less:
  • The fact that it blocks the first PCIe of the motherboard
  • The imposing dimensions of this model
  • The noise quickly present
  • Temperatures that deteriorate at low speed

We choose to award silver to the HX6250 from Jonsbo. Even if we have a very neat fan with a very complete accessory part, it is still imposing and will block a PCIe

on the motherboard. Similarly, its high noise level at high rpm can be annoying for some people despite the controlled temperatures in these conditions. At low RPM, it is quiet, but more compact models do as well. Nevertheless, it remains a good choice if you have the space and you want performance above all!

Many thanks to Jonsbo !
