One i500: Corsair to relaunch its compact PC

0

The Corsair one is a PC that leaves no one indifferent. Some purists will scowl, but Corsair’s compact PC is attractive, rather well-built and, above all, offers a very comfortable level of silence with serious components. Well, that was before, because Corsair hasn ‘t updated its baby in nearly two years. In fact, the last update dates back to 2022, with the arrival of the Core i9-12900K and the GeForce RTX 3080 (and 3080 Ti). So it’s impossible to benefit from the latest graphics cards and other processor upgrades. But things are about to change, as the American brand will be making announcements about this range on May 6.

Corsair One 2024: new composites and chassis

So what can we expect from these future versions? For the moment, we don’t really know what Corsair has in mind, but it seems clear that the latest graphics cards will be included in the deep configuration updates. The terminology of the forthcoming range also suggests that there will be versions with Intel and AMD CPUs. Finally, it’s worth bearing in mind that since its launch in 2017, the Corsair One’s chassis design has remained unchanged. Nothing to say when it comes to aesthetics, but it’s worth remembering that this chassis proposes a volume of 12 liters and that when it received the RTX 3080Ti and its 350-Watt TGP, it was undoubtedly at its maximum capacity with regard to heat dissipation. Switching to an RTX 4090 is already taking 100W from the TGP… To stay in the same zone, you’d have to “limit” yourself to an RTX 4080 Super.

Corsair’s teaser suggests that the One i500 will have a different look. For my part, I hope it won’t become overweight, as its format seemed ideal to me. But with CPU and GPU power consumption on the rise, we may have to consider other solutions for cooling these new versions (always in silence).
