Installation

For the installation part, you’ll have to keep your AMD backplate, the manufacturer doesn’t provide one. If you don’t have one anymore, a quick look on eBay should allow you to find one easily.

The HX6250 assembly :

So we start with the assembly on Intel platform and the first step is to prepare the backplate. For this, we have the backplate in which we pass long mounting screws. These are maintained with plastic washers. Be careful with the distance applied and the type of screws used, some are used for mounting on socket LGA-1700.

Then, we put the backplate on the back of the motherboard. Once done, we put spacers on the four corners of the socket, where the screws come out. Then we fix the mounting arms with the small hand nuts. Finally, we put the heatsink on the processor that we screw on the mechanism.

On an AMD motherboard, we will start by removing the original mounting arms of the motherboard. Then, we place four spacers at the four corners of the socket and attach the mounting arm. After applying a small amount of thermal paste on the processor, we finish by fixing the HX6250.

However, like theAK500 from DeepCool, there is a “trick” to screw the cooler. Indeed, the assembly will be done without the fan and without the top cover. In this way, we can access the clamping screws on the tongue of the base! Jonsbo HX6250

The assembly itself is simple, there is not really a particularly complicated step. Nevertheless, if the HX6250 does not block RAM slots, for PCIe, it is another story. Indeed, this model covered the first port on our Crosshair VI Hero!
