What a pleasure it is to have the Patriot brand back on test on our site. The brand has a very interesting catalog of memory kits, and we hope to be able to offer you further tests in the coming weeks. This Patriot kit from the “Viper Xtreme 5” series, clocked at 8200 MT/s, is the brand’s fastest, and delivered excellent performance in all our tests. Although an RGB version is available, our opinion is that these black and red modules are much prettier.
Overclocking is no exception, as our tester easily managed to reach the 8800 MT/s CL38 frequency. After this month of January dedicated to the launch of NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards, we’ll be coming back to the overclocking of this one, with the aim of reaching 9000 MT/s.
Priced at $239.99 on the brand’s U.S. online store, it could also prove very interesting financially after conversion into euros. Following this article, we’ll be contacting the brand to find out where to purchase this kit in Europe, as the brand has a European presence.

- A way to find it more easily in Europe
This is my first test of a Patriot memory kit featuring the new Hynix M-die chips, and to say the least, it packs a punch. The 8200 MT/s XMP profile proves ultra-high-performance, and the overclocking potential is also incredible, but only with a top-of-the-range motherboard and a processor with a very good IMC.
Once again, thanks to Patriot and especially to Shannon Robb for this Viper Xtreme 5 8200 MT/s CL38 kit. I look forward to reviewing another Patriot kit.
