The launch of the next AMD graphics cards is imminent and you can follow the announcements live with us here. But here we have the first image of the Navi 31 GPU that will equip the top of the line RX 7000. For those who are not familiar with it, this short image will not help but for those who want to know more about it, the image below allows you to understand the unprecedented character of the chiplet architecture that AMD is going to launch for a consumer GPU. The picture confirms the use of 6 chips surrounding the main matrix of the GPU. The chiplets should logically house the memory controllers and the Infinity Cache.

Navi 31 die As mentioned earlier, the method and architecture employed by AMD allows the cost of the GPU and the card as a whole ( GRRD6 ) to be significantly lower than that of an RTX 4090, so the key question will be the price of cards using this Navi 31 and their performance levels.

The latest leaks mention a total of 12,288 SPs or stream processors for Navi 31. If this number is officially validated during the presentation, we would have a 2.4 times increase in the number of cores compared to the 5120 SP of the previous Navi 21 GPU. The Navi 31 would combine the use of TSMC’s 5nm with chiplets manufactured following the 6nm process of TSMC or even Samsung.
