Intel A770 almost 3 times faster than AMD RX 7900 XTX on Hogwarts Legacy

We’ve often said here that Intel is keeping a low profile with its graphics cards for the moment, but that these cards, although focused on the mid-range, have an interesting and evolving potential. Here is a piece of information that will continue to bring water to our mill with a series of tests integrating the A770 under Hogwarts Legacy. We mentioned these tests here and in particular the fact that with raytracing, the cards suffer even at 1080P. It’s funny to see how the Intel A770 performs just below an RTX 3080 and far ahead of the RX 7900 XTX…

This “little” A770 loves Hogwarts Legacy (and vice versa)

Without RT and in 1440P, the A770 comes in line and even if it takes over an RTX 3060, it is still behind an RTX 3070 and obviously light years away from the RX 7900 XTX (112.9FPS VS 42.6FPS for the Intel).

The graphics in this brief are from the excellent TechPowerUP

But even if many of us are relativizing the miracles of Raytracing, it is particularly surprising to see that when we switch back to very high resolution with the RT activated, our little Intel still picks up the pace to find itself in front of an RTX 3080 and behind the buttocks of an RTX 3090 with there again a factor x3 compared to the 7900 XTX. Far be it from us to denigrate the excellent AMD card, but we have to admit that Intel seems to be working hard on optimization, drivers and other things to make up for its botched launch. The drivers allow regular and substantial improvements. Finally, concerning RT technologies but also super sampling, it seems that the blue ones have real arguments.
