FSP750-27SCB: the world’s first SFX12VO SFX power supply!

We are now going to FSP which announces a new SFX power supply, the FSP750-27SCB. Already, an SFX power supply is not necessarily the most common, but if we tell you that it is the SFX12VO standard? In short, a world first for the brand!

FSP750-27SCB: the first SFX12VO block in the world!

FSP750-27SCB

With this block, the brand offers us an ultra compact power supply since it is in SFX format. However, it has another particularity as it claims to be the first SFX 12VO power supply in the world. Roughly speaking, this is a standard pushed by Intel to remove the 3.3V and 5V rails from the power supply. The latter only provides 12V. The result is an ultra-limited connectivity and gains in consumption at low speed.

As a result, the connectivity is limited and we only find a 10-pin connector for the motherboard. The CPU part still benefits from an 8-pin EPS12V while we have 8-pin PCIe or 6+2 for the GPUs.

Otherwise, this model features a 90% efficiency and 80+ Gold certification. Internally, we have the right to Japanese capacitors and a DC-DC design. As for the electrical protections, we find the OCP, OVP, SCP, OPP and OTP. Finally, cooling is provided by a 92mm fan and an ATX/SFX adapter is also present!

For the moment no selling price nor any idea about its availability. However, one wonders about the usefulness of such a block at the moment. Certainly, Intel is pushing to see its standard arrive on the market, nevertheless, manufacturers seem to shuffling feet. At the moment, no ATX card is to this standard ATX12VO… So an ITX model requiring a SFX 12VO block… It’s not for tomorrow.
