The Biostar brand announces a total of four new motherboards. We are talking about the B760MZ-E Pro, B670MX-E D4, B760MX2-E D4 and B760MX2-E. Behind these references are hidden quite similar models. We try to demystify it all!

Biostar signs four new motherboards!

On the program, we have four motherboards, all in micro-ATX format. These are intended for 12th and 13th generation Intel processors via their LGA-1700 socket and the B760 chipset , and they are clearly intended for the entry-level market.

Here, the highest-end version will be represented by the B760MZ-E PRO. This model has heatsinks on its VRM a little worked. It also offers four memory slots in DDR5 6000 MT/s. The rest of the connectivity highlights a PCIe 4.0 x16, a PCIe 4.0 x4 and a PCIe 3.0 x1. For storage, we have four SATA III and two M.2 in PCIe 4.0 x4.

Then we find the B760MX2-E more discreet with less elaborate heatsinks. The card only offers two RAM slots, still in DDR5 6000 MT/s. On the PCIe side, the card only offers one 4.0 x16 slot and a second one in 3.0 x1. On the storage side, we still have our four SATA III coupled with a single M.2 in PCIe 4.0 x4.

The B760MX2-E D4 is a DDR4 version of the B760MX2-E. It has the same connectors and the same design… Except for the memory part which loses the access to the DDR5. Here, we will be satisfied with DDR4 memory stick at 4400 MT/s.

Finally, the B760MX-E D4 is the entry-level model par excellence. It is a bare card without heatsink on the VRMs. Of course, you will have to make do with DDR4 4400 MT/s memory slots. Besides, the rest of the connectivity is identical to the previous model. To find the umpteenth difference, you will have to look for the network which goes from Realtek 8125B (2.5 Gbps) to Intel i219V in 1 Gbps.

Finally, regarding the prices, you should not expect big money. In fact, the B760MX2-E D4 is currently available around 105 €.
