The current RTX 3060 runs a neutered GA106 GPU since 28 SM out of 30 are enabled on it. However, on the web, we came across a capture featuring an RTX 3060 “Super”, a model with a full GPU.

On a screenshot, we can see an RTX 3060 that is a bit unusual. Indeed, the card in question has a total of 3840 cuda core, suggesting that this model benefits from a full GA106 GPU. As a reminder, the 3060 as it is released benefits from a GPU cut by two SMs: 28 out of 30. This impacts the quantity of Cuda core which is now 3584.

However, this full version benefits from the same memory part with a 192 bits bus. The card also benefits from 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and a memory bandwidth of 360 GB/s.

In terms of frequencies, this is also a slightly faster version with a boost frequency of 1875 MHz instead of 1777 MHz. Finally, in terms of memory, the latter operates at 15 Gbps, no change at this level.

Finally, what does this tell us? Not much, except that NVIDIA has indeed worked on this card model. Nevertheless, the chameleon decided not to launch it on the market, for various reasons, competition, price, …
