AMD Ryzen 5 7500F at i5-14600 level for less money

We’ve mentioned the Ryzen 7500F on several occasions, an “oddity” in the AMD range initially launched for the Chinese market, but which is now visibly beginning to find its way into other markets. This chip, which clearly seems to come from the self-imposed “sorting” by manufacturers, is essentially a slightly modified version of the Ryzen 7600, with lower boost frequencies and a deactivated integrated graphics processing unit (iGPU).

AMD Ryzen 5 7500F

Where available, this Ryzen is the best choice

In various tests, the Ryzen 5 7500F was compared to the more expensive 14th generation Intel Core i5-14600K processor. Out of six games tested, the Ryzen 5 7500F performed on a par with the Intel i5-14600K in four of them. The two exceptions were Far Cry 6 and Gears 5, where the i5-14600K was around 12-13% faster, a difference deemed negligible in the actual gaming experience.

But the 7500F’s good performance isn’t its only lesson. Compared to the 14600K, it’s the Ryzen 5 7500F’s energy efficiency that stood out. For example, in Cyberpunk 2077, the Ryzen 5 7500F consumes up to 274W, while the i5-14600K consumes 321W. Finally, on the Chinese market, AMD is hurting. There, the Ryzen 5 7500F is significantly less expensive than its competitor. The processor seems to be dedicated to the assembly market, and can be found in complete PCs. The price of the complete system based on the Ryzen 5 7500F was 6,900 Yuan, while the same system based on the i5-14600K cost 8,900 Yuan, a difference of 2,000 Yuan (or just over €250). So there’s no debate where this processor is available.
