XFX RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT: pretty cards, but watch out for the length!

XFX RX 7800 XT - RX 7700 XT

XFX unveils custom versions of its custom bikes, named QICK 319 and Merc 319. While the two models may appear similar at first glance, a discerning eye will notice that the Merc version is the more upmarket of the two. Already, the visual aspect is more polished. There are silver accents here and there, while the gray backplate is also more elaborate. What’s more, this series’ cooling system features a steam chamber, while the other does not.

As for the QICK series, there’s not much to say, since once again we’re treated to a triple-fan heatsink. However, it’s thinner, with 2.5 slots (compared with 2.75 for the Merc series). We’re going for the basics here, with an all-black board and a less elaborate backplate. Finally, the logo has no RGB lighting, and the heatsink will have to make do with a simple copper base, or heat pipes in direct contact with the GPU, instead of a steam chamber.

As for pricing, we also learn that the QICK series is also positioned as so-called MSRP cards. The 7700 XT will sell for $449, compared with $499 for the 7800 XT.
