Clearly, the launch of NVIDIA’s RX 40 SUPER forced AMD to make a number of adjustments to its product range. Indeed, we’ve seen a number of price cuts as a result of this launch. After having officially readjusted the 7900 GRE ($549 vs. $599), it’s now the turn of the RX 7700 XT to see its price melt away!

The RX 7700 XT: $419!

RX 7700 XT

Clearly, when it was launched, the RX 7700 XT was not as successful as the RX 7800 XT. It has to be said that the latter was very close to its rival, much as the RX 7900 XT was to the RX 7900 XTX. This positioning slowed the adoption of AMD’s mid-range card.

At the same time, the price difference between the 7700 XT and the 7800 XT wasn’t all that great: $50. However, the difference in features was a little more significant: 4 GB less VRAM, a less complete GPU and equally poorer performance.

Now, with this price readjustment, the price gap between the two cards widens even further: $80. However, although the new MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) is officially $419, we’ve already seen the card drop below $400! It remains to be seen whether consumers will continue to shun this card or not!
