When we first told you about it, we had just discovered it on the Proshop website. As you may have guessed, the Maximus Z790 Apex Encore is “back in the news”. This time, the future queen of Asus overclocking is shown in photos!

Asus Maximus Z790 Apex EncoreThis model is a motherboard in ATX format. Its design has been reworked. For a start, unlike the current version, it’s black in color, while the ROG logo is more prominent. This logo will be found on the chipset and M.2 heatsinks, as well as on the I/O cover, but it is also present on the back of the PCB.

Connectivity differs from the current model. While the board still benefits from its two PCIe x16 5.0, it also features two PCIe x4 4.0. Similarly, the storage section is reduced to four SATA units, while five M.2 units, one of which is PCIe 4.0 x4, are present.

But what will interest Apex card users are the overclocking features. For the moment, it’s hard to say what we’re dealing with until the card’s datasheet is online. But there are the usual debug LEDs and other buttons for out-of-case booting. Likewise, various dipswitches are included, and we assume that LN2, Slow Mode and other features will be present!
