On the side of Seagate, we find the announcement of a new hard disk of big capacity. Indeed, the company offers us its IronWolf Pro with a generous storage space of 22Tb!
IronWolf Pro : a big hard disk of 22Tb !
With this new hard disk, the brand unveils a very large capacity model for NAS. Indeed, we find a capacity of 22Tb, enough to store a nice bunch of files.
More specifically, this is a classic 3.5″ hard drive with a SATA interface. Inside, we find a total of ten platters, each with a capacity of 2.2 TB. The set also works at 7200 rpm and, in order to limit friction, it is sealed with helium.
In terms of performance, it is clearly not an SSD since it offers transfer speeds of 285 MB/s. Note also the presence of a 512 MB cache memory. Concerning the endurance, Seagate announces that its product will be able to take 550Tb/year without flinching.
Finally, we finish with the selling price which will not be given. Indeed, the latter is close to $600 while the warranty is five years. With this model, the brand can now compete with Western Digital and its WD Red Pro which offer similar capabilities.
