Ryzen 7000 non-X: small TDP of 65W and Wraith cooler!

AMD is about to complete its Ryzen 7000 series lineup with new models. The brand is working on so-called “non-X” versions with a reduced TDP value and a lower price. We also learn that they will arrive with Wraith cooler well known in our columns. In short, we tell you more about these Ryzen 7000 non-X!

Ryzen 7000 non-X: a TDP of only 65W!

In the program, we find a total of three processors. We are talking about the Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 5 7600. Compared to their “X” counterparts, there is no change in the configuration of the cores. They have 12 cores, 8 cores and 6 cores with hyperthreading respectively. If the number of cores does not change, the TDP is reduced: 65W for the three references.

To reduce this famous TDP, AMD reduces the operating frequency. The 7900 has a base frequency of 3.7 GHz with a boost to 5.4 GHz. The 7700 will run at 3.8 GHz base to reach 5.3 GHz in boost. As for the 5600, it will have to count on a base frequency at 3.8 GHz against a boost to 5.1 GHz. The frequency drop is therefore between 1 GHz and 100 MHz depending on the case.

This reduction of TDP allows the Wraith cooler to make its return. The Wraith Prism will be offered with the Ryzen 9 7900 and Ryzen 7 7700, while the Ryzen 5 7600 will arrive with a Wraith Stealth.

Finally, the bills are $429 for the Ryzen 9 7900, $329 for the Ryzen 7 7700 and $229 for the Ryzen 5 7600. The 12-core CPU from AMD will compete with the Core i9 13900 and 12900 from Intel. The Ryzen 7 7700 will compete with the Core i7 13700 and 12700K. Finally, the small Ryzen 5 7600 will come to play on the field of Core i5 13600 and 12600 blue.
