0

Gigabyte officially announces its RX 7900 Series cards. In total, we find five cards, three RX 7900 XTX and two RX 7900 XT. On the menu, we have the right to custom cards, but also reference models.

RX 7900 Series, the reference cards :

Gigabyte RX 7900 SeriesWe start with the small cards of the Gigabyte offer, the so-called “reference” models. In fact, the brand offers two cards with the original AMD design. For the time being, we have the right to rather compact cards equipped with three fans and occupying a little more than two slots in your case.

Who says card of reference, also says base frequencies, no factory overclocking, and connectivity standard. As such, we are entitled to an HDMI 2.1, two DisplayPort 2. 1 and a USB type C.

Gaming OC versions!

Gigabyte RX 7900 Series Gaming. In addition to the reference models, Gigabyte offers two “small” models customized. We are talking about the Gaming OC models, two rather compact cards that take up little more than two slots in a case. Despite this, we find a heatsink based on three fans. The heatsink has two fin blocks with 8 copper heat pipes running through them. The base of the heatsink will cover the GPU and the memory.

As we said, we are dealing with factory overclocked cards. The RX 7900 XT runs at 2535 MHz in boost against 2400 MHz for the reference card. The XTX version has a boost reaching 2525 MHz against 2500 MHz for the reference model. Nevertheless, my memory frequency has not been modified and still runs at 20 Gbps.

The video part has also been customized with two DisplayPort and two HDMI, no USB type C here. As for the power supply part, we have a duo of 8-pin PCIe.

The RX 7900 XTX Elite:

Gigabyte RX 7900 XTX EliteThe Elite model is the “+++” version of the brand’s offering. This model still has a three-fan heatsink, but it has been worked on more. Indeed, it now occupies three slots and we find a little touch of RGB in the fans. The heatsink is also more imposing with ten copper heat pipes and a steam chamber.

In terms of frequencies, we have the right to a factory overclocking more advanced than on the Gaming versions. This time, the GPU will be able to reach 2680 MHz, that’s something else than the small 25 MHz previously mentioned. Nevertheless, no change on the memory side!

Finally, for the power supply, the card benefits from three 8-pin PCIe and the same video outputs as the Gaming OC models.
