Rumor: Nvidia will use AI to boost GPU performance

0

This is a rumor that can be called serious for many reasons. Our friend CapFrameX thinks he knows that Nvidia is going to use its skills (and resources) in AI to deliver drivers capable of optimizing the performance of its graphics cards according to the analysis of different parameters: choice of instructions, throughput, hardware usage, threads, parameters… Artificial intelligence is already implemented in the current drivers, but here we would go to another scale with probably the possibility to “individualize” some settings depending on the game or the configuration.

For the moment, nothing really concrete comes to support the quoted information. But it is claimed that NVIDIA’s AI would be able to improve the drivers to benefit from a performance gain in some games up to 30%. On average, we should count on 10% performance improvement which is still a significant progress for a simple driver update.

At this point, there is no indication if these drivers will cover all the graphics cards of the greens or if only the RTX 40 are concerned. Still according to the same source, we should not have long to wait since a first version of these drivers seems scheduled to arrive on the first quarter of this year.
