The advantage of a small chip like the RTX 3050 6GB is that you can do whatever you want with it. Indeed, Palit is offering a passive version of the card in the KalmX series. The company is following in the footsteps of Gigabyte, which offered a low-profile version.

Palit offers two RTX 3050 6 GB, including a passive model!

Palit RTX 3050 6 Go KalmXAmong the two graphics cards offered by Palit, we find the KalmX version, a so-called passive model. As you can see, this card has no fans at all. Cooling is provided by a simple block of aluminum fins with copper heat pipes running through them.

This is quite the opposite of the StormX model, which comes with an active cooling system. The latter features a single fan that blows over a simple aluminum block with machined fins.

Palit RTX 3050 6 Go SotrmXApart from their respective cooling systems, the boards are rather compact, occupying just two slots in a PC case. Likewise, the PCB length is limited to 170 mm, so they’ll fit in just about anywhere.

As far as frequencies are concerned, we’ll have to make do with the boost of the reference card with the passive model. The StormX version is available in an overclocked factory model with a frequency of 1492 MHz.

Finally, three video outputs are available: HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a and DVI dual link.

No price yet, but the low-profile Gigabyte model is already on the market from €215~220.
