The iGPU of Skylake processors has been retired by Intel. Thus, the graphics part of the Core i 6000 will not be updated anymore… Only in an irregular way for security reasons.
Skylake: end of theiGPU support in Gen 9 processors!
A small return in time since the Skylake processors were born in 2015. At that time, it was an opportunity for Intel to launch new processors and bring DDR4 support to mainstream platforms. These were actually equipped with a Gen 9 iGPU and it is this part that Intel is dropping. In other words, there will be no more regular driver updates. If a new driver is released, it will be versions to correct security or stability flaws, but that’s all.
Otherwise, we learn that the end of support does not concern CPUs with graphics parts in Gen 9.5. This includes the Skylake refresh or Kaby Lake, the famous 7000 series where we found the i5 7600K and i7 7700K.
In the meantime, the last WHQL driver that was released on the SkylakeiGPU is the 30.0.101.2115.
