Intel driver: beware of data collection!

After NVIDIA, Intel also has a user data collection program. The new CIP ” Compute Improvement Program ” collects telemetry data from your machine. The aim is to use this data to improve the company’s products. This feature has been enabled by default since driver version 101.4578.

Intel driver: disable the Compute Improvement Program to stop collecting data!

Intel CIP driver

If you don’t want Intel to know how your computer runs, simply disable the CIP checkbox. To do this, when installing the driver, run a custom installation and uncheck the corresponding box. It is active by default.

On the web page dedicated to the program, the blue boxes indicate that the data collected will not be used to contact you. They are also anonymous. However, it’s up to you to decide whether or not you want your graphics driver to send data to the rookies:

  • Your device manufacturer
  • Processor reference
  • Memory quantity and display configuration
  • Operating system and version
  • Software version
  • Language settings
  • Geographical zone and time zone

But things don’t stop there: even the categories of the websites you visit are sent to the blues. Fortunately, only the category, not the URL. Likewise, the way you use your PC will be analyzed… In short, if you don’t agree with this, you know how to disable this program.
