Intel Alder Lake and Raptor Lake: price increase imminent?

0

Last year, Intel announced that a price increase for all its components was inevitable. It should have happened in the last quarter of 2022 but it seems that the bad news is for now. Against the current with AMD, Intel seems to have decided to increase the prices of its components to compensate the losses caused by the fall of the market. It should also be taken into account that this price increase is unfortunately also in line with the general price hike caused by inflation. In fact, price increases for Intel processors are already here, starting with the Alder Lake family (Core 12).

If we keep the price in US$ as a reference, we see a 10% price increase for all models of the Alder Lake range. The repercussion is obviously important on the top of the range with 59 dollars more for the i9-12900K, which goes from 409 to 648 dollars. This information is official as these prices are released on Intel‘s website, Ark. In theory, the Raptor Lake range should also undergo an increase (the CPUs but also the chipsets that equip the motherboards)…But this is not the case for the moment. The situation is therefore paradoxical since the Raptor Lake processors with significantly better performance are in fact cheaper than the Alder Lake generation models. The only question is: “until when?
