Intel releases a new graphics driver, Arc Graphics Driver version 101.5122. Initially, this new version targets the graphics section of Meteor Lake processors. It also includes a performance boost for Battlefield 1.
101.5122: Meteor Lake iGPU support and performance boost for Battlefield 1!
The biggest new feature of this driver is, of course, support for the graphics part of Meteor Lake processors. As a reminder, this generation of CPUs is due to arrive soon in the mobile sector, i.e. notebooks.
The other big news concerns the performance gains on BF1. The change note announces a 30% increase in performance over version 101.5074.
Intel’s Arc Control software also gains new features. In particular, it supports neural style filters applicable to the background on a webcam. Otherwise, HDR capture makes its appearance, as does streaming from HDR to SDR on HDR-compatible screens. Last but not least, shortcut keys become customizable!
The patches :
As for fixes, there aren’t many (on the graphics side), since Intel only corrects the problem of corrupted vertical lines on Fortnite (DX12) with certain anti-alliasing settings.
However, once we turn our attention to their software, we have :
- The virtual camera will activate correctly on hybrid system configurations.
- No more error pop-ups after engaging capture/hinglight/playback.
- Global application settings in Overlay mode are now preserved after reboot.
- Camera preview will display correctly after changing resolution to 1440p.
- No more worries about the Arc Control window cropping incorrectly after minimization or a change of display resolution.
- Recordings and Highlights will no longer be corrupted if Overlay mode is activated during recording.
- Performance graphs are scaled correctly, even with maximum values reported.
- GPU Voltage Offset will no longer display unformatted maximum values on an Arc A-Series card.
- Reduced screen time for Arc Control notifications.
The list of identified problems:
Otherwise, as usual, we end with a long list of known problems:
- Intel Arc Graphics Products:
- In-game crashes on Dead by Daylight may be experienced.
- Topaz Video AI may encounter errors when using certain models for video enhancement.
- Intel Smooth Sync may not work as expected on some DX11 games.
- Intel Core Ultra with Intel Arc Graphics Products:
- Field corruptions may be observed on Diablo 4 (DX12).
- Crashes on Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves (DX12) may occur after loading into gameplay.
- The Talos Principle (DX12), with certain upscaling presets, may simply crash.
- When launching the SPECAPC benchmark on Autodesk Maya, the software may crash.
- With certain memory configurations, Blender may crash when rendering certain scenes.
- Topaz Video AI may encounter errors when using certain video enhancement templates.
- Intel Iris Xe MAX Graphics Products:
- Driver installation may not complete successfully on some notebooks equipped with both Intel Iris Xe and Intel Iris Xe Max. A system restart may solve the problem.
- Intel Core Processor (12th-14th Generation) Products :
- Sporadic crashes can be observed on Dragon Quest X Online (DX9).
- Intel Arc Control:
- With some games, Arc Control Studio may incorrectly generate multiple video files.
- When using an HDMI connection, the “Display” page may incorrectly show DisplayPort in the “Connector” tab.
- HDR recording with Arc Control Studio may be corrupted when the mouse cursor is.
- Finally, the camera preview may cut out when the system enters a connected standby mode.
