Here is the modular motherboard from Framework

If you follow the hardware news, you have already heard about Framework. Some time ago we told you about its modular laptop which is fully upgradeable and therefore easily repairable. This laptop was launched last year and received positive reviews. But the company wants to push the concept by selling the motherboard of this system as a standalone component. The aim here is not to replace the motherboard in a laptop but to build a mini PC with it.

framework carte mère Framework offers three configurations: an Intel Core i5-1135G7 , a Core i7-1165G7 and an i7-1185G7 at a price of $399, $549 and $799, respectively available on the American continent. But these motherboards are expected to arrive soon in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria and Ireland. Some may say that the prices are a bit steep and that it won’t get any better once we arrive in Europe. But the target is not a mini-ITX type configuration but rather small form factor PCs where space is extremely limited. And in this area Framework’s proposal could be worth a look.

Framework also has its own marketplace where it sells various parts and accessories compatible with its products. So, do-it-yourselfers beware!
