BC-160: mining graphics card from XFX!

A new graphics card for miners is coming on the market. Once again, AMD GPUs are at the center of this practice. So, after the Sapphire X080 and X060 it is the turn of the BC-160 from XFX to land on the market.

BC-160: an XFX blower to mine crypto!

XFX BC-160With this new card, XFX offers us a GPU based on a Navi12 chip. Originally, this model was launched by AMD to provide Apple’s MacBook Pro with GPUs. However, it seems that the use of this chip has been somewhat diverted. Already, this model is available as a PCIe card (4.0 x16), but it is now used for mining.

On the configuration side, we have a chip containing 36 compute units and a total of 2304 stream processors. Regarding the memory, we find two stacks of HBM2 memory each attached to a memory bus of 1024 bits. This gives us a bandwidth of 512 GB/s.

What will interest the miners above all, is the performance that can be achieved with such a card. Indeed, this model displays 69.5 MH/s, a figure greatly helped by the memory bandwidth of the card, according to VideoCardz. As for the power consumption, this model is announced with a TGP of 150W. It remains to be seen what can be achieved by optimizing the power consumption and the frequency.

Otherwise, the heatsink does not offer anything very eccentric since we find a very simple turbine. At the back of the casing, we have the right to two 8-pin PCIe connectors for the power supply. Finally, there are no video outputs unlike GPro X060 sapphire for example.

Finally, for the price, this card is clearly not cheap since it will cost some 2176 € on Aliexpress to get one. And still, you’ll have to cross your fingers and hope to receive the right product.
