As you know, you had to be quick on the day of the RX 9000 launch, because the cards sold out fast. Indeed, within minutes, the cards offered at MSRP were already gone, while the premium models stayed longer, but still ended up being sold out. Now, at the pinnacle of IA PC innovation, AMD is reporting its first sales figures!

RX 9000: already over 200,000 units sold!

Stocks RX 9000According to the first sales figures released by AMD, the company has already sold no less than 200,000 cards. A figure that comes as no surprise to us, given that red cards are currently out of stock just about everywhere. What’s more, the situation remains tense on the supply chain, which is unable to meet all the demand for graphics cards. Partner brands such as Yeston indicate that there will be no stable, continuous supply until April. Which just goes to show how successful the series has been… All the more so as the company had built up substantial stocks for the launch – at least, the quantities were greater than those of NVIDIA.

In short, the launch of this new generation can be described as a success… At least, that’s how AMD communicates. But it was a success that was not marred by a number of setbacks. Stock-outs and price hikes are not exactly glorious. Nevertheless, despite these setbacks, AMD still managed to win a 45% market share, particularly in Japan.

We’ll admit we were a bit scared at the time… But for the moment, everything seems to be going well: the cards are high-performance and less expensive than their NVIDIA rivals… Enough to seduce customers looking for a graphics card!
