From AMD, we learn via Hardware Unboxed that AMD is reportedly planning ahead for the launch of its RX 9000. In fact, we’ve learned that the red cards aren’t likely to be sold out any time soon, quite the contrary in fact. That’s good news for a successful launch: everyone will be able to get their card!

RX 9000: sufficient stocks to meet demand? Towards a successful launch?

Sapphire RX 9000 Nitro One of the main drawbacks of the RTX 50s at the moment is the low stock levels. Some models, such as the RTX 5090, have been reported to have lead times of between 3 and 14 weeks, which is an eternity in this business. As for the other cards, they are completely or almost completely out of stock.

In short, this is where AMD can distinguish itself from its competitor by offering something to satisfy demand. By offering sufficient quantities of cards, it’s reasonable to assume that people actively looking for a graphics card will turn to the Reds if they don’t have a choice in the Chameleon’s range.

According to Hardware Unboxed, if the RX 9000s run out of stock, AMD will have sold as many cards as the RTX 5090/5080/5070 Ti and RTX 5070 combined. That sets the scene. It won’t come out of the blue, though, as our fellow videographers are in direct contact with resellers.

As a reminder, the cards will be available for purchase from March 6. On February 28, AMD announced its RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 at $549 and $599 respectively. It remains to be seen how many of the cards available will meet AMD’s MRSP. As things stand, we can assume that PowerColor, with its Reaper range, will be present, and perhaps Sapphire with its Pulse models. In any case, compared with NVIDIA’s offer, the Reds’ cards already seem to offer an excellent price/performance ratio, 23% compared with the RTX 5070 Ti!
