This is it, D-Day, the end of the NDA for the NVIDIA RTX 5080 customs graphics cards announced at CES 2025. We’ve already had the opportunity to test the NVIDIA RTX 5090 Founders Edition on January 23. Yesterday, we tested the Founders Edition version of NVIDIA’s RTX 5080, and today we’ll be taking a look at the three custom models we’ve received: the ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC Edition, the PNY RTX 5080 and the AORUS RTX 5080 Master.
You’ll finally be able to find out where the performance of this new ROG RTX 5080 ASTRAL OC Edition stands in relation to the previous generation and the potential of DLSS 4 on this model. We’ll also be looking to see whether a card with factory overclocking can do even better than the NVIDIA RTX 5080 Founders Edition, and how much better it can do.
ASUS took advantage of CES 2025 in Las Vegas to unveil this new, top-of-the-range Astral series, which moves above the Strix series in the hierarchy. Although the Matrix series remains the very top of the range, it is no longer systematically produced with each generation.

Thank you to ASUS France for making this copy of the ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC Edition available to us, and see you in a few weeks’ time to discover the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Liquid Edition.
