Microsoft has announced that Windows 10, the world’s most popular PC operating system, will reach EOS (end of support) on October 14, 2025.

WINDOWS 10 - 14 octobre 2025What will happen on October 14, 2025?

From this date onwards, the company will no longer be releasing regular security updates for the operating system, or so-called “patch-Tuesday” updates for Windows 10. This announcement only concerns Windows 10 client editions. Special editions of Windows 10 designed for large organizations and government agencies are not affected. Organizations using client editions, such as Windows 10 Pro, can benefit from the ESU(extended security update) program. This will give them access to critical security updates, but not to new operating system or software features.

What can you do to avoid being left behind?

Microsoft has taken the opportunity to encourage Windows 10 users to upgrade to the latest version of the Windows 11 operating system. The company plans to launch the next generation of Windows 12 sometime in 2024.

Why upgrade to Windows 11?

Windows 11 is the most secure operating system to date. Its extensive capabilities, including Copilot in Windows, are designed to help your organization stay protected and productive.

These include:

  • Integrated advanced encryption,
  • Data and credentials protection,
  • Robust system and network security, plus intelligent protection against evolving threats.
