Following the announcement of its financial results, NVIDIA has announced some supply constraints. The company has posted solid results, which have led to a significant increase in revenue in the gaming sector. However, the outlook is not easy, as supply constraints are weighing on the sector. The reason: limited memory supply.

NVIDIA: supply constraints in the first quarter and throughout 2026!

NVIDIA RTX 5070 Founders Edition

Simply put, the company’s gaming division posted excellent financial results in the fourth quarter of 2025. It reported revenue of $3,700,000,000, a substantial increase of 47% compared to the same period in 2025. However, despite these excellent results, Colette Kress, the company’s CFO, mentions supply constraints in the first quarter of 2026 that will continue throughout the year.

We are familiar with these constraints, as they are related to limited memory supply. The AI sector has pushed manufacturers to focus on the production of HBM and LPDDR5(X) and to neglect other sectors. As a result, there is less GDDR6/7 in circulation and brands are having to adapt, prioritizing the production of 8 GB cards, for example. NVIDIA is therefore favoring the production of RTX 5060 (Ti) 8 GB and RTX 5070 12 GB cards, which have limited capacity compared to the RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5090. But this is also true for AMD, which is focusing on its RX 9060 XT 8 GB and RX 7650 GRE, for example.

Mechanically, a constrained supply means prices tend to rise . Since November, graphics cards have seen their prices increase by 15% worldwide. The increases vary in magnitude depending on the region, but they are increases nonetheless… While at certain times, the shortages in retailers’ catalogs are more or less noticeable.
