While fans of the game were counting on Forza Horizon 6 arriving in 2026, recent leaks clearly suggest that the title is set for a much earlier release. Last week, an Instagram post deleted by Australian importer Cult & Classic shows a member of Playground Games scanning a Kei car, reviving the hypothesis of a map set in Japan. And then there are several credible sources who now claim to have access to official documents indicating that an official presentation could take place during Tokyo Game Show 2025, which runs from September 24 to 28. These two pieces of information reinforce each other. Indeed, given that the Tokyo Game Show focuses primarily on the Japanese gaming market, it seems logical to present Forza Horizon 6 at this event instead of other events such as Gamescom, if the game’s action is indeed set in the land of the rising sun…

Forza Horizon 6 in Japan in September, but available in 2026?
Forza Horizon has established itself as the benchmark for open-world racing games. While the leaks seem to leave little room for doubt regarding the localization of the new opus, the commercial release date has yet to be confirmed. The unveiling of this new episode at the Tokyo Game Show will therefore have a special significance for Microsoft, as the company aims to consolidate its presence in Asia, while renewing interest in the universe of this flagship title with the arrival of customized Japanese cars. We already know that Xbox’s participation in the event has been confirmed, so this is a further sign that the rumors about the title’s presentation are confirmed. However, a presentation at the end of September does not mean a commercial release by the end of 2025. Not long ago, Phil Spencer himself announced the title for 2026.
According to Windows Central, Forza Horizon 6 will be based on the same graphics engine used for Forza Motorsport (2023) and the upcoming Fable reboot, albeit with some notable optimizations. As a result, we can anticipate a significant evolution in graphics. What’s more, the source states that this new edition promises to be the most immersive and elaborate Forza Horizon title to date in terms of gameplay systems.
The game will be released primarily on Xbox and PC, followed by the PS5 a few months later. A priori, there will be no version for the Switch 2.
