Some time ago, we told you about a rumor that Asus was entering the RAM market. The rumor was true.
So it was true: Asus launches ROG DDR5 kits
During an event marking 20 years of ROG, the company presented its first ROG modules with exclusive specifications and BIOS mode. As far as specifications are concerned, ASUS ROG Edition 20 DDR5 memory modules are currently available in a single kit, made up of two 24 GB modules, offering a total capacity of 48 GB. Each module is equipped with Hynix M-Die chips, ensuring high stability, excellent compatibility and, of course, excellent predispositions to overclocking. The modules run natively at 6,000 MT/s with CL26 timings, but ASUS offers a secondary profile that can only be activated on its ROG motherboards.
In practice, you can activate a “ROG Mode” in the BIOS, which lets you select between a low-latency mode ( 6000 26-36-36-76 at 1.45 V) and a high-bandwidth mode (8000 36-48-48-110 ” at 1.40 V). The 8000 MT/s mode offers higher bandwidth at the expense of timings, while the low-latency mode is better suited to gaming. What’s more, ASUS ROG Edition 20 DDR5 memory modules will be fully compatible with Intel XMP and AMD EXPO profiles.
The Ram kits in question don’t skimp on aesthetics either. They are equipped with a unique thermal cooling system, featuring an aluminum grille and RGB lighting, all controllable via ASUS AURA Sync technology. Available in black, silver, gold and red, this heat dissipation system is advertised as being of the highest quality and performance. But only our tests will reveal the reality.

Finally, ASUS has also announced that it is collaborating with 14 renowned memory brands, including BIWIN, V-Color, Lexar, Klevv, Kingston, Corsair, G.Skill and T-Force, to offer ROG-certified DDR5 modules compatible with ROG motherboards.
For the time being, we know that the “in-house” Asus Rog kits will be priced at 5,999 RMB, or around $900 US, and will come with a lifetime warranty. This is currently a high-end 48 GB DDR5 kit, given the shortage of RAM. Its release is scheduled for the end of June.
So, obviously, reality differs a little from the rumor, since at one point there was talk of 100% Asus RAM, with a potential association with a Chinese manufacturer of RAM modules… But this hypothesis is not at all dead with today’s announcement.
