Cities Skylines II: a big CPU is recommended!

0

Cities Skylines II will be released on our PCs on October 24. However, since the game’s release on Steam and now, the recommended configurations for playing it have been inflated. In fact, the studio has increased the game’s system requirements as new features have been added.

A muscular CPU to play Cities Skylines II!

Cities Skylines II

The problem with city builders is that as your city grows, so do the resources required. That’s why the recommended configuration for this second opus is quite substantial, with :

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 12600K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Graphics card: RTX 3080 or AMD equivalent

Initially, when it was released on Steam, the studio recommended :

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 9700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Graphics card: RTX 2080 Ti or AMD RX 6800 XT

Basically, what the studio is telling us is that you’ll need a configuration based on an 8-core CPU and a graphics card equipped with 10 GB of VRAM. However, the unfortunate thing about Steam is that resolutions for such a configuration are not specified.

In contrast, the minimum configuration for playing the game is more permissive, featuring an i7 6700K or a Ryzen 5 2600X. As for memory, we’re down to 8GB, while a GTX 970 or AMD equivalent is mentioned.
