Galax is on the move. The brand recently announced new graphics cards in its HOF series. Things started with the RTX 5080, followed by the RTX 5090D. Just recently, the RTX 5070 Ti HOF made its appearance – in short, a whole series aimed at overclocking and high performance. This time, Galax organised a special event around the RTX 5090D HOF. The event was aimed primarily at overclockers, who were invited to test and talk about the product. And the product, there’s no denying it, is a real beast!
RTX 5090D HOF: two 12V-2×6, plenty of watts for maximum power!
With this card, we’re back to a model that’s particularly well-suited to extreme OC. As you can see, the card’s printed circuit board has been carefully crafted and, compared with a ‘classic’ card, it has numerous power supply stages. Worse still, the RTX 5090D and its 600W TDP can be limited by its power supply: 600W for the 12V-2×6, 75W for the PCIe, and the card already consumes 575W, which leaves very little margin. That’s why a second power connector has been added to the card. As a result, this model is capable of consuming up to 1200W of power!
In short, with a configuration like this, the card, in the hands of Micka:)Shu, has achieved a world first place. This new record was on 3DMark Speed Way with a score of 17,169 pts. A first place with a considerable lead of 415 pts over the runner-up.
There’s no doubt about it, the card is performing well. It’s just a shame that such a model is geographically limited to China. That’s right, this RTX 5090D HOF may not make it to our shores… Unless it’s imported!
