The Galax HOF series of graphics cards is far from dead. We’ve already had a version based on NVIDIA’s RTX 5080, and now we learn that the brand is preparing a second card. Via the Chiphell forum, a new model of card has been revealed, so make way for the RTX 5090D HOF.

An RTX 5090D HOF in the works!

Galax RTX 5090D HOF

We were disappointed to learn that Galax was opening the HOF ball with an RTX 5080, but the good news is that the RTX 5090D will also be going through the extreme overclocking process. And this newcomer seems to be equipped for it. Images of the card’s PCB show a meticulous design with an impressive number of power supply stages. The card has 38 of them, all of which are considered to be of the highest quality!

What’s more, while the board features a first 12V-2×6 power connector, there is also a slot for a second socket on the PCB. Just imagine, if this second one is added, the board could be supplied with a 1200W power supply! At the moment, a single connector can transmit up to 600W, which can be limiting, especially when you consider the GPU‘s power consumption. Adding a second connector would allow us to go even further.

With this, we mention hand-picked components like the GPU and GDDR7 memory. Because yes, having the best PCB in the world isn’t very useful if your components don’t want to go up in frequency. What’s more, early feedback is pointing to difficulties with overclocking, as well as a backplate that has had to be redone. Yes, obviously, a few lucky people selected by the brand were able to get their hands on the card before it was launched. The aim was undoubtedly to gather feedback fromoverclockers in order to offer a truly perfected product.
